Born into a cadet branch of the same family as Count of Rhylanor Marches Eneri Gamlupad, Shadakish grew up on Aramis as the first generation of his family to live away from Rhylanor. He grew up as many youths of privilege do. The best prep schools with an eye toward college. Parties galore, though he found he couldn't keep up with the serious drinkers in his circle. Fast cars, fast air/rafts, fast launches. Such a lifestyle, however, can interfere with plans for schooling and Shadakish found himself turned away from the college he'd planned to attend. Too proud to ask his parents for help he instead found a place within a mercantile firm, learning the ropes of brokering deals. He spent the first eight years of his career learning the seamier side of deals. How to work with those on the edges of Imperium law, or outside it all together. How to close deals with anyone who contacted his office. How to pilot small boats to rendezvous points and how to remain alert for anyone trying to crash a meeting. During this time he was sent along on a Navy mission to the Vargr. Two goals were met: learn how the Navy operated, and gain experience with Vargr and their ways. Along the way he met then-lieutenant Reman Lex. Observing the experience office Shadakish absorbed ways sophants could be swayed to one course of action or another, a lesson he took deeply to heart. The company also sent him to flight school for a multi-week course on small boats, honing his skills. The next four years found Shadakish in a more stable setting, routinely closing megacredit deals. His tiem in and around shipyards and spacers sparked his curiousity and over the months he gradually learned how ships' communications worked. Steadily working up the ranks he know found himself an experienced broker capable of negotiating multi-facet deals as a matter of course. Then came the moment that likely changed his life forever. At a party he overheard one of the local billionaires mention their desperate need for cybernetics. Not a week later he learned from his street contacts of a Vargr looking to sell hot merchandise, including an entire shipping container of cyber-parts. Shadakish spent a few days making overtures to both sides, finally closing the deal with a hefty bonus for himself. He was convinced the deal went down cleanly with no ties back to himself, yet for the first time in sixteen years he was passed over for promotion. He chose discretion. Rather than try to pry into the reasons for the unspoken snub he chose to resign while his record remained spotless. It took less than a week after he resigned to hear of the March Harrier and her crew. Realizing the company would need people to crew the ship he approached the company's representative, Tal Doroziggawitz. After equipping himself with what he figured he'd need for the journey he's now working the terminals in preparation of his first flight as part owner of the March Harrier.
Shad quickly left the crew of the March Harrier and joined the crew of the Vargr Merchant Hunter Honored Ear as the first human crewmember.
